Grumpy is as Grumpy Was
STRESS
Ever have those days where you wake up feeling off, tired, and a bit grumpy, but you can’t quite put your finger on why? That’s me today. Besides a slight headache (which is par for the course), I didn’t sleep well last night and woke up feeling pretty cranky. I’ve already had two cups of delicious vanilla coffee and some morning cuddles with Wonder. I read my affirmations while sipping my coffee and decided to take a break from my blog—you guys don’t need to hear me whining, LOL.
So, here I am at Canatara Park, a beautiful spot in my city with plenty of nature trails. This is where I always find my inner peace and tranquility. Right now, I’m listening to the cicadas. Those tree bugs are fascinating to look at, and the sound they make (it’s the males drumming their tymbals as a mating call) is surprisingly relaxing for me. I could listen to it for hours.
As I walk through the trails, it’s lovely to see the squirrels and chipmunks running around, collecting nuts, and chasing each other. The breaks in the trees where the sun shines through really gave me a new perspective on my day. Suddenly, my mood lifted, and I couldn’t even remember why I was grumpy in the first place.
There’s a little bench I love near a pond with a small waterfall. The ducks and geese swim by, and some hang out on the grass by the fence. It’s quite peaceful, with a mix of sun and shade. It’s a reminder that we choose our happiness. We are in control of our feelings and how we want our day to unfold.
With love,
Heather
